Sexy Lady is lead single from Jang Woo Young (of 2PM’s) solo album “23, MALE, SINGLE”.

- What is up with all this sexy in Kpop these days?
- Very catchy, club worthy.
- I loved the choreography.
- … The girls he was clubbing with were NO GOOD…
OPINIONATED REVIEW BELOW
The lyrics describe a typical clubbing circumstance. Dude goes to a club. He sees a woman there unlike any girl he’s ever seen, and he’s fallen.
… I can’t really say much about his vocals. This song is just a fun song. He sounds good, but he didn’t do anything spectacular with his voice. Again, nothing much to say.
RAP: Haha, there’s no rap.
LYRICS: The lyrics are average with the “love in the club” theme. I do have to say that the “maem maem dora maem” part is really catchy though. In fact, there are a lot of catchy lines here and there. There isn’t a lot of depth, but a song of this genre shouldn’t be so serious.
MUSIC VIDEO: … Again, more typical things. Dancing in odd places, an expensive car to lip sync in and dance in (though Wooyoung seems to have quite a lot of fun dancing in there haha)… They arrive at the club where Wooyoung looks at a bunch of girls (and Wooyoung looks really bored looking at them. I would be bored too, they didn’t seem to be having any fun whatsoever)… And that’s about it. No plot, no nothing. Not even a Sexy Lady out of all of those monotonous clubbers, which was the whole point of the song. Interesting lighting though, it took me a while to get a good screenshot that wasn’t in the dark.
DANCE: The choreography made the music video worth watching. It was well thought out. For example, at the spinning around my head part, they put their fingers on their head and move their heads back and forth, then put both palms on their temples and move their heads again. I thought it was clever (it doesn’t sound clever when I type it, but when you watch it you’ll see). I liked the “sexy laaaaadeh” part of the dance. It was smooth, fun and a bit charming. There was one awkward part, when they pull a Co-Ed School “Bbiribbom Bberibbom”, but otherwise it was all well performed (and unnaturally sexy, when I think about it). It’s no good if I just talk about it though, go watch it!
OVERALL: It’s a good start for Wooyoung. I think this is one of the catchier Kpop club tracks of the summer season. Nothing sets it apart from a lot of other songs, but it’s not unoriginal. It’s a fun song. If Hands Up wasn’t your cup of tea, I think Sexy Lady will do your ears better justice.
