POINTS

  • Whoa, a sweet romantic song from 2NE1? If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought there was a revolution within YG Entertainment.
  • I could imagine the producers forcing CL to reduce her usual fierceness in this song, haha.
  • I love you, OOOOOH, ooooh…
  • The music video is oddly sexy…(?)

Mpop Quick Review: Wild Cursive (狂草) by HanGeng (韓庚)

Wild Cursive, aka Kuang Cao, aka 狂草 is Hangeng’s newest single from his upcoming 2nd Chinese solo album (*will update as soon as info is released and translated :P).

POINTS

  • The lyrics are incredibly unique and fierce!
  • The song has a semi-epic fight feel to it (I say ‘semi-epic’, for it is energetic enough to fight in (?), but it’s chill enough so that your blood isn’t boiling over).
  • Their weapons of choice in terms of fighting that smoke/ink business are quite amusing hahaha.
  • The song, the video… It is all so interesting!

Kpop Quick Review: Monster by Big Bang

Monster is a track from Big Bang’s “Still Alive – Special Addition” EP.

POINTS

  • Their hair… I thought I had enough with Fantastic Baby…
  • It’s a mid tempo listen: DJs, look elsewhere for energetic kpop.
  • Agh, this song is so angsty!
  • I LOVE the lyrics though…
  • The video was pretty creepy and scary… Yet, it has interesting details that had me watching again and again as I tried to catch all the minor details (and hairstyles)…
  • The lyrics… It’s like Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame combined.

Kpop Quick Review: Electric Shock by f(x)

Electric Shock is the title track of f(x)’s 2nd mini album “Electric Shock”.

POINTS

  • NANANANANANANA
  • Strong choreography.
  • I was expecting Amber to rap… When she started belting out those notes, it totally threw me off!
  • Maybe this was just me… But f(x) seems to like long hair in this song (minus Amber of course).
  • SM needs to take off the FREAKING ADS off of their music videos…
  • f(x) is BEGGING for some cheeseburgers! They’re so thin!
  • Maybe I think this way because it’s a pop song… But is it just me, or is everyone getting more lines, yet managing to sound good?!

Kpop Quick Review: Call (불러) by AA

(Requested by Nadia (^_^) Hello 2012!).

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Because I have little time to dedicate to this blog, until notified otherwise I will only be reviewing songs that are REQUESTED. I am really sorry for this inconvenience, but I must dedicate a lot of my time to school. I hope you can understand me (>.<). – Izzy

(Note: This isn’t their official music video, or even their debut track (“Because I’m Crazy” aka “So Crazy” is their debut track). Isn’t this video cute though?)

“Call” aka “불러” aka “Bulleo” aka “Call Me” is the 3rd Track of AA (pronounced “Double A”)’s 1st Digital Single.

POINTS

  • What a promising new rookie group!
  • Very, very sweet.
  • They must be on the other line of MYNAME’s “Message”!!! Just kidding, MYNAME’s “Message” is more about texting while AA’s “Call” is mainly about calling.
  • Turutururu…. BULLEO BULLEO BULLEO BULLEO BULLEO (repetitive, but catchy parts of the lyrics).
